Welcome!

One of the most popular areas along the Main Line is the Philadelphia suburb of Bryn Mawr. Steeped in history and rich in culture, Bryn Mawr features some of the most beautiful homes in the area. There is a wonderful mix of architectural styles from those reminiscent of old Main Line charm to contemporaries appealing to a modern sense of design.
Bryn Mawr was originally part of a land charter granted to William Penn by King Charles II. In 1683, Rowland Ellis purchased 800 acres from Penn, permanently settling there from his native country of Wales. He named his new farmland, “Bryn Mawr” meaning “great hill” in Welsh. John Humphries, an uncle of Rowland Ellis, purchased an adjoining property which is the present day site of Bryn Mawr College and the Baldwin School. The town became known as Humpreysville and remained such until 1869 when officials from the Pennsylvania Railroad renamed it Bryn Mawr. What was once a summer haven for wealthy Philadelphia businessmen became an established town.  With the influx of permanent residents came the need for schools, health care, and mercantile establishments and Bryn Mawr quickly developed into a bustling suburb.
Today, Bryn Mawr continues to be a focal point of the Main Line affording an easy commute to Philadelphia via SEPTA Regional Rail and major roadways.  Bryn Mawr is located in Lower Merion Township in Montgomery County and Radnor and Haverford Townships in Delaware County and is serviced by Lower Merion, Radnor and Haverford School Districts. A variety of private school options are available including the Baldwin School, Agnes Irwin School, the Shipley School, the Rosemont School, Merion Mercy Academy, and Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy. Bryn Mawr is also home to the nationally recognized Bryn Mawr Hospital as well as the esteemed Bryn Mawr College.

Some of the most desirable properties on the Main Line are located in Bryn Mawr and include single homes as well as town homes and condominiums.  Bryn Mawr features a lively shopping, dining, and entertainment district along Lancaster and Montgomery Avenues. The convenient location offers easy access to the upscale Suburban Square, Haverford Square and King of Prussia Mall.  Bryn Mawr enjoys proximity to some outstanding venues such as the Merion Cricket Club, Merion Golf Course, Overbrook and Philadelphia Country Clubs, Bryn Mawr College Arboretum and the Bryn Mawr film Institute. Bryn Mawr has so much to offer making it a wonderful place to live. Please check back for updates on places to go and things to do in Bryn Mawr!
